May 14, 2011. in Szczecin Pl. Grunwald Szczecin Vegan Initiative organized a protest against the construction of mink farms in the municipality of Kirkton. Activists one and a half hours, in silence, the sounds of acoustic guitar, presented pictures of animals from fur farms, and distributed leaflets. protested because they want to ensure that animals are treated ethically and fairly. Protested, because the American mink farming is also harmful to the environment and the threat of local species. Also 
Sąpolnica residents nearby villages, and Korytowo Ostrzyca, protesting against plans to build stinking farm. But Mayor Nowogard claims that his role is only to check whether a trader wishing to Nowogard build the farm at 80000 Mink comply with the rules. In practice the city authorities are able to successfully block such an investment. American mink farms are death camps for the innocent creatures who spend several months in cramped cages before being killed. These animals are devoid of natural living conditions. Often hurt by bars, and by mental illness, caused by lack of space and stress, commit acts of cannibalism.
